As Glenn Frey says ‘ The heat is on!’
It’s always hard trying to figure out what to lead off with, there is always so many things going on in the winery, and with both labels. That being said this month is an easy one for me. I want to introduce you to De La Luz Wines. These are small lots from one of my mentors Victor De La Luz. Victor is currently one of the winemakers at Gordon Brothers in Tri-Cities. He has taught me a lot in the cellar and brings over 10 years experience in the wine industry to the table. This will be his first product to bear his name however. It is my honor to say that De La Luz Wines will be available exclusively in both of our Walla Walla tasting rooms! For me to be in a position to help a friend live a dream, it really takes it full circle.
The inaugural release of De La Luz wines will be in September and feature his 2015 Merlot and 2016 Tempranillo. Stay tuned for a release party at The INK. Speaking of parties at The INK we had a blast with Brother Dege on July 20thand look forward to Naughty Pine with Sound & Stone on August 17th. Tickets are on sale now. Want a free show at The INK? Come in this Monday for Food truck night party! We will be featuring a rotating mix of our favorite local acts. This will be a fun night for sure, so grab some food or get a Panini at the INK and enjoy free live music in Walla Walla! Food truck night is the first Monday of the month with the last one for the season being September.
Talking about food, we now offer lunch Fri-Sun 1130-330 at The INK. Our menu is available on line but we feature 5 Panini sandwiches weekly. All menu items come with chips or pretzels and are all under $10! Now you don’t have to drive back downtown for food, just come out to The INK.
Last month was so jam packed and so fun, it’s hard to remember all the great times we had. Our late night dance party with So Dance was another successful night at The INK. We welcomed Daniel B from Bogota 3 times in July and I was personally able to attend the final one, which I am so grateful for. Whether it is a flutist or guitarist I love live music and love that we can bring it to you weekly in Walla Walla.
We only have 4 cases left of our Eternal Perspective Grenache Blanc, Eternal Insight Marsanne, and Eternal Beauty Rose. Don’t miss out on these hot weather favorites. I give these wines 5 gold stars which means absolutely nothing but is fun to say.
Harvest will be here before we know it and it’s nice to say we are more ready for it this year than any other before. This is the first year we will be producing in our own facility and I can’t be more excited about this. I am currently looking to take on a smaller client for custom crush or crush/press and go.
Lastly I am on the road again a lot in August but this is the final month of my tours. It brings me mixed feelings about this as I love being on the road making new friends but I also really love harvest. Either way however I have wine on the brain. Come see me in Bellingham, Renton, Spokane or Buckley this month.
Our downtown tasting room is now open 5 days a week: Wed. & Sun 12-5 pm and Thurs-Sat. 12-8 pm.
Our airport location is open Friday-Sunday 11-5 pm. Lunch served 1130-330 *We are open later for special events.
Free live music is from 5:30-7:30 pm. Locals taste our Drink Washington State wines for free.
