Eternal Wines announced today plans to move into a new 4400 sq ft. winery and tasting room. The 2-acre property is in the southern region of the Walla Walla Valley and will be planted with vines in Spring, 2025. The building was previously used for boat sales and repair, aka The Boatyard.
Walla Walla, Wash., (Dec 5th, 2024) Eternal Wines will soon have a new location. Since 2017 Eternal has been produced and bottled at the Walla Walla airport in one of the incubators. In those 7 years, wine production has scaled up, as has distribution. Eternal Wines is now sold in 8 states. Brad Binko, owner and winemaker, believes in growing organically at a steady pace. “Our wines continue to score higher, and I continue to press the boundaries on winemaking styles and co-fermentations.”
Eternal Wines has also become known for their concert series “Beats & Bites” along with late night DJ parties. However, their biggest annual event is the PRIDE Festival which has grown from 126 people in year 1 to 776 people this year.
“Because our production was growing, our inventory was growing, and our events were growing. I knew we needed a bigger space a couple years ago.” said Brad. “The problem is that there aren’t many options for wineries to move into, so we had to think outside of the box. I had first looked at the boatyard location in April of 2023 and thought, “This has good bones”. I did a lot of research on it and ran numbers on turning it into a working winery and tasting room. However, another property came up that caught my attention, and I put the boatyard property on the backburners.
The beauty of the incubators is that it allows new wineries to grow and figure out what direction they want to take while allowing them 6 years (7 in our case) to plan and implement that plan. The problem is that you know you have a set date and that date looms on you every day. It seemed like everyday customers would ask “Where are you going to move to? Aren’t you worried?”
As the countdown continued, I decided to look at the old Boatyard property again. In May we put an offer in for the property and closed in late June. We are currently cleaning up the place and hope to be open for tastings by January. The first year producing wines in this new Milton-Freewater location for Eternal Wines will be 2025. The property is located directly next to Zerba Cellars on highway 11, located at 85514 OR-11, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.”
