ETERNAL WINE

Single Vineyard Wines

Stick a fork in it! Harvest is over!

As I am writing this we have just today brought in our last lot for the year! Harvest is a lot like childbirth.  It’s long and short, crazy and unexpected, draining emotionally and physically and you’re always happy when it’s finally over!  I have no children, but 100 or so babies in the winery.  That being said, I am happy that it is over; however, the work is far from over.  The grapes will cold soak until we destem them at the winery and than fermentation will begin.  Our last lot is also the 2nd lot from Otis Vineyard.  Otis Vineyard was planted in 1956 and our vines we harvested were planted in 1986.  That, as we know, was a horrible year for the Red Sox, but also a pretty amazing year.  Clemens broke out as an MVP, Cy Young pitcher extraordinaire, posted 20 strikeouts against the close to Walla Walla, Washington, Seattle Mariners.  I remember watching that game for the first time in 1989.  My father had video recorded it.  That’s how I watched the 86 series as well. Anyways, that is why I am so excited to work with these grapes. It is our second lot of Cabernet Sauvignon we have brought in this year.

Our Fall Release weekend is coming up this weekend.  Wine Club members can pick up their shipments ONLY AT the downtown tasting room.  Now for the exciting news:  We are going to open our brand new Airport winery this weekend at 602 Piper Ave. at the incubators.  We will be pouring all new releases from both labels, such as DWS 15 Carmenere, 15 Chardonnay and Eternal 15 Merlot, Fortified 16 Syrah and 16 Viognier.  We will be open from 11-6pm, Friday-Monday, at the incubators.  At this location we will not be pouring any of our other wines that are currently released.  If you want to taste them all at 1 time you will need to visit our downtown location.  We will; however, be selling bottles of all our wines at the airport; just not tasting them all.

We have live music in our downtown tasting room, Thurs-Sat., during Fall release weekend. I will be pouring at the World Trade Center in Seattle on the 6th for the Rising Stars pouring event.  I’m bringing 3 of our wines that will be available there for purchase; but here’s the kicker, they are only allowing us 2 cases each, so come early and taste through our lineup to find your favorites.

Our Eternal Darkness Halloween party was amazing.  The best part was that 98% of everyone dressed up! We gave out awards for sexiest, darkest, funniest, and best couple! Good times were had by all.

Ivan Huera, Mari Gisele, Clarice Swanson and Robert Gomez, AKA Zemog Otrebor, are all back in the tasting room as their unique styles make them local favorites.   Free live music is from 5:30-7:30pm.  Just a reminder that we always offer $5 glass pours of our Drink Washington State white wines. With the colder season coming up we will be offering mulled wine at the downtown tasting location after fall release weekend.

With harvest winding down and opening a second tasting room in Walla Walla, we will be doing less out of town events.  We will pick back up with the weekly out of town pourings in January of 2018.
